Urm I've always had to pay for my lunch at school. There is a system for the 'poorer' families that allow them to have free school meals, but I didn't fall into that catagory. I haven't hit Uni yet, thats after my gap year but I do know that unless you go into the catered halls you don't get a cafeteria.
Yeah, play school isn't obligatory but I'm glad that my folks sent me. I actually started learning Algebra at nine. The Nth term and all of that jazz. But then again I'm odd, I find Algebra mind numbingly easy but struggle with fractions and percentages. I agree that psychology should be studied sooner. Maybe with the GCSE years over here (thats a period of two years where we take important exams when you are 15 -16). In a way I think it could be younger however since I've studied it at sixth form I also understand that some of the content in the curriculum is slightly disturbing. Milgram's study and Freud's 'Little Hans' study springs to mind.
Eh, on a side note: Hormones suck, seriously why should a ten year old have to get hormones?!
